Troubled Waters: Out of Sight, out of Mind? By: Rachel Hallman January 8th, 2013 Topic: The destruction of marine ecosystems in the Gulf of Mexico through human-induced contamination of waterways. Abstract: This report presents a visualization of perhaps the largest concern of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century and the steps that will need to be taken in order to overturn what is now being seen as the ensuing death of global marine ecosystems due to eutrophication. It is organized around 4 questions that will guide marine protection reform in the early 21st century: (1) How do human activities result in nutrient enrichment
